Future Intentions of Kumara Foundation at Barur and Sellagudapatti Elementary Schools and community Projects:

• Teacher’s salary: To improve the students performance of the Barur and Sellagudapatti elementary schools, Kumara Foundation employed and provided a salary support for the academic year 2007-2008, Kumara Foundation would like to continue salary support for the additional teachers during 2009-2010. One month salary of a teacher is $25/-

• Purchase of computer: Sellagudapatti Elementary school has 40 students in total from grade 1 to grade 5. These students were never seen a computer and kumara Foundation would like to award funds to purchase computers, educational software, internet & the salary support for a part time computer teacher. The estimated fund required for this project is $500/-

• After School Program: There are no after school program at Barur and Sellagudapatti elementary school. Funds are required for after school program. The goal is to provide an extra help for homework. The estimated amount for after school program per school per month is $25/-

• Children’s Library at the School: There is no children’s library at Barur and Sellagudapatti Elementary schools and there are no public library and around the village. Students have to travel to a bigger town or cities to go to a library; normally no student has the resource to go to a library. Establishing library at these will be great addition resource for children’s at this schools. The estimated funds to establish a small library at each school will be $ 500/-

• Essay competition: Encouraging students by awarding stipends for scholastic aptitude through the essay competition, debate and other extracurricular performances. Funds required per year is $100/-

• School Playground: Maintenance of school playground and sports supplies. Funds required is $100/- per year.

• Teacher’s aid: Employing additional teacher’s aides. Funds required hiring a teachers aid is $20 /per month per teacher’s person.

• Electric Fans: Purchasing electric fans to cool off children during severe sultry summer days in southern India. Total estimated cost is $ 200/-

• School Furniture: Raising funds for purchasing more school furniture and supplies to help the students.

• Scholarship: We would like to provide scholarship\s to a student securing highest grade with an intention to attend College (4 yrs). Funds Required for this scholarship is $400/- per year.

• Special scholarships will be awarded to 10th grade students who have the nintention to attend engineering colleges. This scholarship amount will cover the cost of two years of preparatory Technical High Schools (11 th & 12 th grade) fee, supplies and tutor fee in case any extra help needed.

• Supplying more amenities for science laboratory (Computers, Science materials)

• Continue to support the existing ongoing projects

• Feed at least one meal per day for the poor, sick, elderly, helpless women and children.

• Setup small orphanage / shelter with the help of neighboring villagers for elderly and abandoned children.
